About me
You might be coming to counselling because something no longer fits. Life may look the same on the outside, yet inside you feel changed — unsure of who you are, what you need, or where you’re heading. You may be used to holding things together, showing up for others, and pushing through, even when you feel lost or overwhelmed.
I understand this place. Before training as a counsellor, I worked in hospitality, an environment where you learn to keep going, meet expectations, and care for others, often while putting yourself to one side. My own experiences of loss, change, and starting again shaped the way I work today and my wish to support people who feel disconnected from themselves or in the middle of becoming someone new.
In our work together, there is no expectation to have things figured out. Therapy isn’t about fixing you or telling you who to be. It’s about creating a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to reconnect with yourself at your pace. And if you’re not sure who you are right now, that’s okay. We can begin exactly there, together.
What is counselling?
Counselling offers you a confidential, supportive space to talk openly about whatever is on your mind your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and the experiences that shape them. It’s a place where you don’t have to explain yourself or hold things together, and where you can explore what’s difficult without judgement.
People come to counselling for many reasons. It may help you to:
• notice what is causing distress or making you feel stuck in your life
• recognise your inner strengths and begin to trust them again
• explore patterns in relationships and how they affect you
• see familiar situations from a new perspective
• develop greater self-awareness and understanding
• feel less overwhelmed and find ways to cope that feel right for you
• identify support, both within yourself and around you
There is no right or wrong reason to come; only your reason.
What I offer
I offer a warm, accepting, and confidential space where you can be yourself, whatever you are carrying. You will be met with care, respect, and honesty, without judgement or pressure to change.
I believe the relationship between us is at the heart of the work. Feeling safe, understood, and genuinely listened to allows change to happen naturally. You lead the sessions, and we work at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work from a Person-Centred approach, which means I trust that you already hold what you need within you. My role is to offer presence, understanding, and compassion, so you feel safe enough to explore your inner world and make sense of your experiences in your own way.
Alongside my counselling training, my background in hospitality shaped my ability to listen deeply, connect with people from all walks of life, and offer warmth during difficult moments.
I have worked within NHS Talking Therapies, supporting individuals with their mental and emotional wellbeing, and with Cruse Bereavement Support, helping people navigate loss and its impact on identity, relationships, and meaning.
I have also undertaken additional training in pregnancy and baby loss, infertility, and bereavement. This has deepened my understanding of how isolating the feeling of loss can feel, and how healing often begins with simply being heard and understood.
You don’t need the right words, a clear goal, or a plan. We can start wherever you are.
