Dr Esther Rose
Clinical Psychologist
Therapy In-Person or Online £150
I am a Clinical Psychologist, chartered with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist over 15 years ago and have worked in private practice since 2011, also working at the same time in NHS mental health services, including for many years in criminal justice settings.
I am also a Trainee Psychosexual Therapist, specialising in treating psychosexual problems in men and women, including the treatment of painful sex, low arousal and orgasm difficulties (including erection and ejaculation difficulties) problems and I also treat compulsive sexual behaviour, including problems with excessive pornography use. I am happy to see you as a couple or on an individual basis to address these difficulties, which may be having a significant impact on your emotional wellbeing and relationship satisfaction. I am also registered with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and I work within the Jane Wadsworth Sexual Function Clinic at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.
In addition, I have particular expertise in treating people who have personality problems, arising from traumatic early experiences which result in problems maintaining close relationships, anger, impulsivity and reckless behaviours. However, I also regularly provide psychological therapy for more common mental health problems such as anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem, post-traumatic stress and those adjusting to significant life events such as bereavement or a relationship breakdown.
A key aspect of my therapeutic work is to develop a trusting relationship so that therapy feels like a safe place for you to share and explore your concerns and feel understood without judgement. I believe it is also crucial to take time for us to reach a good understanding of your current difficulties and life patterns, how they have developed and what keeps them going. This can help identify how you can take more control of your responses to emotional situations and cope better with day-to-day challenges and/or more long-term emotional struggles you have had.
