A bit about me
Hi, I’m Krishika, a BACP-accredited psychodynamic therapist and counsellor. I specialise in work with adolescents and young adults and also offer play therapy for younger children. I provide a supportive and thoughtful space where clients can explore what’s going on for them at their own pace.
Alongside my clinical work, I am completing a Professional Doctorate in Psychodynamic Counselling. My research focuses on relational dynamics between client and therapist in shared cultural contexts, reflecting my interest in how culture, identity, and relationships shape our emotional lives.
My work
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. Meaningful change grows from trust, safety, and collaboration. I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard.
You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly what you want to say. It’s normal to feel unsure or nervous - we can explore things together at a pace that feels comfortable. Therapy offers a place to think things through and make sense of patterns in your life and relationships. It can help with both big challenges and everyday experiences, from friendships and family relationships to school, work, and life transitions.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic theory, exploring how past experiences and early relationships influence how we feel about ourselves and others. I also draw from person-centred techniques and continue developing my skills across a range of therapeutic methods, tailoring my approach to each client.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across various settings, including:
• Supporting young people with emotional and psychological challenges, including those with SEND or neurodivergent presentations such as ADHD or autism
• Working with children who have experienced abuse or complex trauma
• Supporting adults living with long-term mental health difficulties
These experiences have shaped my commitment to a trauma-informed approach that prioritises safety, trust, and emotional support.
Some of the challenges I can support you with
People often come to therapy with me for support with:
