Louise Lederman
Psychotherapist, Coach & Counsellor
Therapy In-Person or Online £90
Hi and welcome. I’m so glad you found your way here - just showing up to this page is a brave and meaningful first step.
I am an experienced and compassionate Psychotherapist, Counsellor & Coach working with both young people (13yrs+) and adults.
With over 25 years experience working within the charity, education and mental health sectors, I bring not only professional knowledge but also warmth, steadiness and real-life perspective to my work, alongside a genuine belief in people’s capacity for change.
Who I work with
I provide a welcoming, safe space for individuals of all ages, cultural backgrounds, sexualities, gender identities, and ethnicities. A space where you can simply be yourself, without judgement.
Many of the clients I support come to therapy feeling unheard, misunderstood, or worn down by long-term challenges. My role is to help you feel seen, validated, and supported as you navigate whatever has brought you here, so you don’t have to carry it on your own anymore.
I have particular experience and interest in working with:
• Young people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, school/exam stress, emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD/ADD, Autism and Asperger's, whether formally diagnosed or self-identified
• Individuals experiencing relationship difficulties, including communication challenges, boundary setting and conflict within families or intimate partnerships
• Women navigating perimenopause and menopause, including the emotional, psychological and identity shifts that can accompany this stage of life
• People living with chronic health/pain conditions and the psychological impact this can have
I also work with the presenting issues below:
• Anxiety and social anxiety
• Panic attacks, stress and overwhelm
• Workplace stress and burnout
• Depression/Low Mood
• Trauma
• Bereavement
• Parenting challenges
• Fertility and pregnancy
• Low self-esteem/self-confidence
• Attachment Issues
• Addiction
• Domestic violence
• Abuse – physical, emotional and sexual
What to expect
My integrative therapeutic approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to you as an individual. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Instead, I work at your pace, helping you make sense of your experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with your strengths, especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain.
Clients often describe me as calm, approachable and easy to talk to. I aim to create a space that feels safe enough for honesty, reflection and sometimes even a little lightness or humour where it helps.
During our time together I will aim to increase your level of self-understanding and perspective. This will allow you to deal with problems and issues you may face more effectively.
Life Coaching & Mindfulness
I also offer life coaching for those ready to work towards meaningful goals. Together, we can build your confidence, navigate change, and create a path that truly fits your values, wants and needs. Whether you feel stuck, uncertain about your future or simply eager for growth, coaching is focused on choice, clarity and sustainable progress.
Coaching is more forward-focused and action-orientated, while still grounded in emotional awareness, so it can work beautifully alongside therapy or as a stand-alone space for growth.
Mindfulness is particularly useful in managing stress and anxiety and involves some simple yet very effective techniques that can be easily learnt.
About me
Supporting others has always been at the heart of my work. Over the years I’ve worked across the charity sector with organisations including The National Autistic Society, Sense, ORBIS UK and Tavistock Relationships. More recently, I’ve worked with NHS Talking Therapy services (via Mind) and with community mental health charity, Jami.
I also spent time working in a secondary school SEND department, which deepened my experience with young people.
Outside of my clinical work, I’m a huge lover of music and books, and in 2005 I co-wrote a children’s book series that explored music, different cultures and mental health.
