Nia Ruparelia

Integrative Psychotherapist

Therapy In-Person or Online £65

Hello, I’m Nia! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Life often asks us to carry more than we realise. Past experiences, cultural and family expectations, or inner struggles can leave us feeling heavy, uncertain, or disconnected from ourselves. Just as the body needs care to heal, so too does the mind and heart. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and gently reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been forgotten along the way.
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, my approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and presence. I see therapy not only as support, but as a collaborative journey- one where you can bring your whole self without judgment. I feel privileged to walk alongside clients as they rediscover their resilience, clarity, and capacity for self-compassion.
I bring experience from working in both the NHS and The Psychotherapy Room in Derby, supporting adults through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. My areas of focus include trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns.

Each person’s journey is unique. I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – reshaping unhelpful thought patterns and restoring balance.
• Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) – offering a nurturing, accepting space to explore your authentic self.
• Attachment Therapy (AT) – making sense of how early relationships shape your emotional wellbeing.
• Mindfulness & Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) – cultivating presence, kindness, and emotional resilience.
• Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) – helping you embrace challenges with clarity and purpose.

I also have a strong passion for working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism. Being neurodivergent myself, I understand what it means to navigate a world that often feels misaligned with our rhythms. My lived experience, alongside my professional expertise, allows me to hold space where clients feel truly seen, supported, and encouraged to embrace their unique strengths.
For me, therapy is less about “fixing” and more about exploring, remembering, and realigning at your own pace, in your own way.

Outside of the therapy room, creativity and exploration ground me. Music is my anchor, a language of emotion beyond words. I also turn to sketching, painting, and crocheting as ways of self-regulation and expression. Nature is another source of renewal: hiking, snow trekking, or simply being outdoors reminds me of the importance of movement, curiosity, and connection. These passions enrich the way I work, bringing both creativity and balance into the therapeutic space.
If you feel ready to take this next step, I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
