Welcome - I’m Romany. I’m a qualified therapist with experience supporting children, teenagers, and families since 2017. My approach to therapy focuses on building self-awareness so you can better understand yourself, empowering you to make positive, lasting changes in life. Therapy can be a challenging, yet a rewarding journey, and I am here to support you through each step of the way.
I believe each person is unique, with their own experiences, thoughts, and goals. My work is grounded in Humanistic Therapy, which means we will take time to build a therapeutic relationship, where you will feel safe, heard and understood. You will have a confidential, non-judgemental, empathic space for you to explore your experiences and emotions at your own pace. Alongside, I draw on other therapeutic approaches to best support your needs such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) and SFT (Solution Focused Therapy). Together, we will tailor our sessions to suit your individual needs and goals based on what feels right for you.
Services
I offer both individual therapy, and family work. Available in person or online.
I offer a free 25-minute introductory session. This gives us a chance to talk about what you’re looking for from therapy, how I work, and answer any questions you might have.
Ongoing counselling sessions are 50 minutes and will be held weekly.
Qualifications
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I earned an undergraduate degree in Humanistic Counselling from the University of Nottingham and a master’s degree in Counselling Children and Young People from The University of Northampton. I also hold a Level 2 DBT-A accreditation from The Association for Psychological Therapies. I have several years’ experience working as a school counsellor in both Primary and Secondary school settings, providing one-to-one counselling, group therapy, and workshops on a wide range of topics.
