Shaan Malhotra

Psychotherapist & Professional Leadership Coach

Therapy Sessions In-Person and Online £85

I am a psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting people through loss, trauma, identity, and major life transitions. My work is grounded in the belief that it takes real courage to pause, look inward, and make sense of what you carry and that no one should have to do that alone.

Alongside extensive professional experience across bereavement, hospice, and mental health services, I bring deep lived understanding of grief, loss and my own traumas. I have spent much of my career working with individuals and families at their most vulnerable, and I am acutely aware of how profoundly life events can shape the way we see ourselves, others, and the world around us; I understand how difficult it can feel sometimes.

I offer a calm, compassionate, and thoughtful therapeutic space where you can speak openly, at your own pace, and without fear of judgement. I work collaboratively, helping you explore what has happened, how it affects you now, and how you might move forward in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable for you.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and questions of identity and purpose. Sessions are shaped around your needs, drawing on evidence-based approaches while always keeping our unique human relationship at the centre of the work.

In addition to therapy, I am a qualified leadership performance coach and mentor, working with professionals at any level to strengthen insight, resilience, and direction in their working lives.

I speak English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu, and welcome clients from all cultural backgrounds.

Having experienced an abusive and often frightening childhood, I went on to live through many challenging personal crises. After a particularly difficult time, I had my first experience with therapy; I knew I needed help and that I needed to feel better, in that moment and going forward.

From that time, I learned two important things: First, that I was very aware that I did not want to keep carrying on in the same distressed way that I was; I knew I needed help to help me. Second, I realised I would never again wait for a crisis to seek help.
I’ve made it a priority to care for myself emotionally, just as I would my physical health, so I don’t experience that desperation and fear again. I’ve continued with therapy ever since, and it has been a key part of my well-being.
